US Court of Appeals Ruling Impact on Paul Downs Cabinetmakers

US Court of Appeals

Ultra Grade

Kitty corner to the White House sits the old Dolly Madison mansion.  Today it houses the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  We worked closely with the Honorable Kimberly Moore to design and build this table.  Judge Moore had very clear ideas of what it should look like and how it would work:  Traditional, but not gloomy.  Large, but flexible.  The stature should be appropriate for the historically significant room and the historically significant decisions made therein.  Given such a clear brief, we went to work and produced what you see here.  The table is 300" long when all together.  Each piece is 66" wide, 60" long.  The two end sections have a single curved side.  The room is large enough to accommodate multiple configurations.  The edge and base are walnut, with a satinwood inlay band surrounding pommelle sapele in the center.  A magnificent table for an important room.
